Local banks play an important role in stimulating the local economy, but their contribution is still relatively small. Local banks are not widely known to the general public and are not used by governments to support economic development to improve people's well-being, especially in rural areas. West Java and Banten government asset development, savings, deposits and lending are expected to increase, but this is not accompanied by stable growth in variable operating profit and therefore sub-optimal performance. .. Similarly, the performance of local private banks is generally not optimal. This condition is believed to be due to problems in implementing competitive strategies. Implementing a competitive strategy can also be affected by improving the company's reputation and adjusting the business environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the business environment and corporate reputation on the competitive strategy of regional banks in West Java. The data is collected through a survey of 100 respondents and analyzed using partial least squares (PLS). The results of this study show that while a
company's business environment and reputation have a greater impact on its competitive strategy, reputation has a greater impact on the West Java region's competitive strategy than its business environment.
