DETERMINANTS OF PROFITABILITY IN INDONESIA MANUFACTURING (Case Study on Automotive and Component Sub-Sector Companies)



This study aims to analyze and measure the extent to which liquidity ratio, firm’s size, gearing ratio and market share affect the profitability on automobiles and components listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2020. The research method uses quantitative research with saturated samples 10 companies and the financial year period 2015-2020 for the independent variables and 2016-2020 for the dependent variable. The data used in this study is secondary data. Technical analysis using panel data with common model effect regression with the help of Eviews 10 software. The results of the study show that liquidity ratio has a significant positive effect on profitability with return on assets, net profit margin and gross profit margin, gearing ratio has a significant negative effect on profitability with net profit margin, while firm’s size and market share have no effect on profitability with return on assets, net profit margin and gross profit margin as their proxies.
