This paper aims to discuss the phenomenon of hate speech in Jakarta, especially among users of social media in Indonesia. It is considered that hate speech activities have become a prominent issue, because of suspected relating to the moment of the elections, Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada). One of hate speech raised in this paper is the speech given by Riziek Shihab, the High Priest Islamic Defenders Front, about the birth of the Savior Christians, Jesus Christ. The speech was delivered ruthless, without respect to the christian religion. By applying a content analysis, the speech was considered intentively to "attack" the opponent, Governor Jakarta. The content of the speech deliberately delivered to "hurt" a certain people with different race, ethnicity, and religion. Inevitably, speech content cannot be separated from the socio-political context that is happening, the local elections of governor. To counteract hate speech, the application social influence is practiced. Education can be applied to raising the awareness of civil society to maintain the integrity of NKRI, Negara Kesatuan Republlik Indonesia, the Republic of Indonesia.
