A research was carried out in Perbanas Institute from October 2020 – January 2021. This
study was aimed at investigating how the online extensive reading in English language
classes at Perbanas Jakarta was held and how it affected on English language skills. The
research method used is descriptive quantitative method. A questionnaire using Likert scale
was given to 67 students from 2 English classes. The results showed that online extensive
reading increased student motivation in reading. In addition, online extensive reading also
improved students' language skills in understanding text, improved four macro language
skills, namely speaking, writing, listening and reading. From the results of this research, it
is hoped that online extensive reading can be included in the English language learning
curriculum at Perbanas Jakarta.
