Business competition becomes a condition must to be considered by the each company, so that company must have the great strategy to be use for winning the competition. PT.indomobil finance Indonesia is a company engaged in the business of financing services of motor vehicles and equipment of consumer financing, leasing and factoring, which was founded in 1993. Ratio of growth at PT.indomobil finance Indonesia fluctuative. In 2012 decline year on year (YoY) 2011 to revenue growth, number of assets, and the amount of equity in 2013, that’s profit for the year’s declined. As this study purpose to analyze the effect of strategic planning and leadership style on competitive advantage and determine the effect of the performance of the company as a intervening variable.
In this research, data collection methods using questionnaires and data analysis techniques used in the development of models and hypothesis testing is partial least square (PLS). Partial least square (PLS) was chosen because this device is widely used for the analysis of causal-predictive complex and is a suitable technique for use in applications such as prediction and development of the theory in this study. Result from this study showed that the strategic planning affect the strategic planning but not influence on competitive advantage as the as the company continues to pay attention to the development of performance and seeks to improve the performance, whit later will have a chance to achieve a good competitive position, the greatest leadership style influence on the performance of the company and competitive advantage, and performance of the company as an intervening variable direct effect on competitive advantage
For future leaders of firm must have good leadership style because based on the results of this study indicate that the style of leadership has the greatest influence on the performance of the company and a competitive advantage and can perform strategic planning well besides that need to be considered to improve the competitive advantage is the training and education the employees which in this case PT. indomobil finance Indonesia should improve the education or training for employees that can be done regularly and pay attention to the technology used in this moment, use for the company’s operations and technology for the best service for consumers
