This research aims to compare the financial health in state-own insurance companies and privately-own insurance companies in Indonesia. The research period used is 2017-2020 using the variables of Risk Based Capital (RBC), Growth of Net Premiums, Growth of Underwriting Results, Expense Ratios, and Return on Equity (ROE). The population in this research are state-own insurance companies and privately-own insurance companies. The sample selection used purposive sampling method so that a sample of 6 companies was obtained. This research uses the method of collecting data documentation. The analytical method used in this research is the independent sample t test and the Mann Whitney test. The results of the test state that there is no difference between state-own and privately-own insurance companies in the ratio of Risk Based Capital (RBC), Premium Growth, Growth of Underwriting Results, and Expense Ratio. However, there are differences between state-own and privately insurance companies in the ratio of Return on Equity (ROE).
